Role Overview

The Staff Physician – Psychiatry is a consultant-level physician role within the Neurological Institute, applying specialist psychiatric expertise to diagnosis, prevention and treatment of complex psychiatric conditions and contributing to high-quality tertiary/quaternary academic care.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and treat patients within the Psychiatry specialty using specialist medical knowledge and evidence-based practice.
• Provide culturally appropriate and sensitive care and comply with ethical and regulatory guidance.
• Participate in administrative functions, committees, task forces and performance-improvement initiatives that support clinical operations.
• Provide hospital on-call inpatient coverage when required.
• Work within approved clinical privileges and all Medical Staff policies and procedures.
• Support clinical excellence, scholarly activity and advancement of evidence-based practice.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Tier 1 specialist/consultant qualification is expected for this vacancy.
• For physicians from Tier 1 countries, at least two years of additional experience after qualification.
• Valid license or registration to practice in the home country and/or most recent country of employment, where applicable.
• MD, MBBS, MBChB or DO/equivalent basic medical qualification plus the recognized specialty qualification required under the Abu Dhabi Healthcare Professionals Qualification Requirements.
