Role Overview

Operating Theatre Registered Nurse role delivering evidence-based perioperative care before, during and immediately after surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised surgical nursing care; prepare and maintain the operating theatre and instruments/equipment; collaborate with surgeons, anaesthesiologists and other team members; monitor and document patient status and interventions; escalate concerns; follow infection-prevention and surgical-safety standards; participate in audit, education and evidence-based quality improvement; and mentor junior staff/students.

Requirements and Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Nursing with current unrestricted RN registration; at least two years' post-qualification clinical nursing experience including recent Operating Theatre/perioperative experience across surgical specialties; eligibility for DOH/DHA licence and BLS required; ACLS or perioperative nursing certification preferred.
