Role Overview
American Hospital Dubai is recruiting an Optometrist to perform comprehensive vision and ocular-motility assessments, diagnose complex visual disorders and work with ophthalmology teams on management and follow-up.
Responsibilities
- Perform eye examinations and diagnostic tests to evaluate vision and identify ocular conditions.
- Evaluate and diagnose amblyopia, diplopia, inherited eye disorders, complex paediatric/adult strabismus and other eye-movement conditions.
- Arrange or support relevant diagnostic investigations, document findings and monitor treatment response.
- Coordinate with ophthalmologists and other clinicians on management plans, referrals and surgical or non-surgical follow-up.
- Participate in clinical administration, audits and quality improvement and educate patients/families about care plans.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Recognized bachelor’s degree, diploma or Doctor of Optometry qualification meeting professional requirements.
- Valid DHA licence.
- Approximately five years of relevant optometry experience.
- Knowledge of quality improvement and JCI standards and strong diagnostic/patient-communication skills.
