2. Job Description

Serve customers by phone and at the service point, process shipments to network standards and provide professional, efficient and proactive service.

3. Key Responsibilities

• Act as a DHL ambassador and attend to customer needs professionally and courteously.
• Build and maintain professional rapport with customers.
• Follow up customer enquiries and direct them to the correct DHL department when needed.
• Maintain proactive work processes supporting teamwork, shuttle procedures and base performance.
• Provide high-level customer service, recognizing express and time-sensitive requirements.
• Follow customer-service procedures and ISO safe-working practices.
• Maintain knowledge of DHL departments, network, products and services and give accurate information on pricing, transit times, clearance delays, paperwork, packing, accounting and sales queries.
• Identify recurring issues from traces and escalate information for corrective action.
• Process counter shipments accurately and enter correct data to produce accurate airwaybills and suitable service selection.
• Promote DHL value-added services such as Insurance, Import Express and TDD and participate in Sales Lead programmes.
• Identify opportunities to improve DHL procedures, technology and service.
• Work individually and as part of a team to achieve goals and promote positive team spirit.
• Handle customer complaints and resolve issues with minimal team-leader intervention.
• Ensure shipments are manifested by end of shift and documents/invoices for WPX shipments are imaged for faster destination clearance.
• Maintain records of supplies and float money and submit a reconciled cash summary for daily cash sales.
• Provide after-hours follow-up for call-centre advisors by tracking and tracing shipments according to DHL standards.

• Strong organizational and workload-prioritization skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a busy team.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
• Ability to use initiative and judgement to solve work issues.
• Good understanding of the DHL network.
• Strong problem-solving capability and customer-service focus.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Good oral and written English; Arabic is preferable.
• Self-motivation and ability to take ownership and work independently.
• Sound educational background; service-industry knowledge is an advantage.

5. Preferred Qualifications

• Driving licence is preferred.
• Arabic language is preferable.
